History of our Stud
FOR SALE - Quality Stallion potential Colt
We have for sale one of Headowork Black Jack's young offspring - Ramper Ebony by our stud original brood mare Browtop Sweet-Rose. Ebony has not been shown as often as I would have liked to, two firsts and a second (Cheshire County) but I believe he has the potential to make a quality Stallion with the Ramper bloodlines throughout his breeding.
Ramper Shetlands is a small developing Stud, breeding Quality Standard ponies.
Situated in the beautiful West Lancashire countryside.
We set out in the late 1990's to have a bit of fun showing the first mare and foal we purchased. A wonderful mare ( Browtop Sweet Rose ) who has been the corner stone of our breeding programme. It is her offspring with which we have focused to expand the stud for the future.
This mare 'Rosie', now rising 18, is a perfect example of what we want from a pony. She is ridden, driven and produces superb foals. She shows herself to perfection in the show ring and has won numerous Championships. Not a bad start for our stud.
We were very fortunate to acquire an island bred black stallion 'Headowork Black Jack' with excellent Marshwood bloodlines in 2007 and he is six years old now stands at 41. He covered his first mares in 2007 with 100% fertility. His foals are of superb confirmation and have already taken many awards in the 2008, 2009, and 2010 seasons. He has a real stamp that he is putting into his offspring with an abundance of bone and mane which is obviously what I was looking for when I bought him.
Jack will be available to a limited number of mares for 2012 but I will be selective, thus ensuring the quality Marshwood lines are not diluted.

We did suffer a double tragedy this year when we lost both Angel and her foal during foaling. She will be greatly missed.
Jack has well and truly proved himself as a quality Sire with his two year old Filly Ramper Daisy Mae being made Supreme Champion at the 2011 Great Yorkshire Show. Keep it up Daisy! and of course Jack.
