History of our Stud

Ramper Shetlands is a small developing Stud, breeding Standard ponies.

Situated in the beautiful West Lancashire countryside.

We set out in the late 1990's to have a bit of fun showing the first mare and foal we purchased. A quality mare ( Browtop Sweet Rose ) who has been the corner stone of our breeding programme.  It is her offspring with which we have focused to expand the stud for the future.

This mare 'Rosie', now rising 17, is a perfect example of what we want from a pony.  She is ridden, driven and produces superb foals.  She shows herself to perfection in the show ring and has won numerous Championships.  Not a bad start for our stud.

We were very fortunate to acquire an island bred black stallion                  'Headowork Black Jack'  with excellent Marshwood bloodlines.  He is rising 6 and stands at 41 ".  He covered his first mares in 2007 with 100% fertility.  His foals are of superb confirmation and have already taken many awards in the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

He has been shown more in 2009 and is proving to be successful, culminating in receiving the Best Stallion award at the NCPA Championship Show alongside his first foal Cherry who received the Best Yearling Championship. He is certainly maturing into the quality Stallion I always hoped he would.

2010 has started very well and all of our team are performing well, none more than Jack who emulated the performance of Rosie at the local In Hand Championship Show with Reserve Show Champion against all breeds and he received many compliments from the Judges and the Public and his sheer presence in the ring was something that I am certain swayed the judges and he is producing great bone in his offspring.

Jack is available for a limited number of mares

The results Jack and Cherry are experiencing this year make him a quality Stallion, both in the ring and as a breeding Stallion.
